What others are saying about The Caveman Principles.

I found the Caveman Principles to be a witty, humorous and easy-to-follow self-help guide based on the premise that stress and your reactions to it are the main cause of angst, anxiety, worry and self-deprecating beliefs.
Using and sharing his own experiences, Carl Jones has managed to unpack, using simple, clear language the common threads of DISC and MBTI to condense these into a Caveperson analogy that struck a cord with me and I’ve used this insight to shape my thinking around inter personal communication in the workplace and what motivates me to enjoy my life.
As a ‘Hunter’ with a fair degree of ‘Protector’ thrown in, I’ve re-assessed my family and close associates into the Cavepeople and this has opened up better communication between the people I love and the various teams I lead, which of course leads to better results and happier people.
Personally, continuing the Caveman analogy of internal change management utilising the ‘Herder’ and the ‘Mammoth’ not only led to some genuine laugh out loud moments, but quiet reflection on the times I’d let my Herder try to short cut the journey and derail the Mammoth!
I’ve read a number of business-related psychological-based books, to further my work and mitigate stress ‘triggers’ and feel that The Caveman Principles should be right up there as a soft introduction to this area.

Caveman Principles provides practical and valuable insights into understanding and managing stress.  The book is both informative and entertaining and written in an accessible style.  Caveman Principles is highly recommended to anyone looking to increase their understanding of stress in themselves and others and strategies to manage both effectively.

I have just returned from a prehistoric adventure with “The Caveman Principles” by Carl Jones! This delightful self-help book is like having a quirky caveman buddy guiding you through the modern jungle of stress and communication.
Carl tackles the age-old struggle of stress management, revealing that our anxiety can be traced back to our ancestors’ trusty (and sometimes overly excited) fight-or-flight responses. Who knew that dealing with deadlines and social media pressures could be so… primal?
Enter the “Caveman Tribe Sorter”—a clever and witty system that categorises folks into four unique tribes based on how they communicate. Knowing your tribe can be as enlightening as discovering you have a long-lost dinosaur relative. It’s a game changer for improving relationships!
Not only is the book packed with practical tips, but it’s written with such humour and accessibility that you’ll find yourself chuckling while learning to herd your metaphorical pet Mammoth ( my particular favourite) through the chaos of life. I mean, who wouldn’t want to tame a Mammoth while navigating change?
So, if you’re eager to understand your stress responses, enhance your relationships, and take charge of your well-being, grab a copy of “The Caveman Principles”! It’s a fun, empowering read that proves you can manage stress without shouting “CAVE!” at every challenge. Plus, you might just discover your inner caveman (or cavewoman) along the way!

I loved it… the book is so relevant and so accessible…

Stress is the biggest challenge to so many of us in these changing and uncertain times. It has achieved almost a mythical, intangible quality that Carl so skilfully, humanly, entertainingly and simply deconstructs here. I love this book and the way it will change lives for the better.

The more I read The Caveman Principles, the more I realised it’s a book I’ll want to revisit—more slowly, more intentionally—so I can try things out and bring even more enjoyment to my people-watching sessions.

What’s truly exciting is how naturally it weaves together so many of the areas I’ve been exploring—habits, motivation, stress, self-sabotage, and more. It’s refreshingly easy to read, yet full of depth, and I can already see how simple it will be to dip in and focus on specific themes.

This feels like the handbook we’ve all been searching for—full of value, free from ego, and written in a way that energises the reader with new insight and motivation. Thank you for creating such an empowering resource.
